Nocturnal: The Esoteric Botanica of Nicomi Nix Turner
Monday, 09 August 2010 09:16 | ||
Bay Area artist Nicomi ‘Nix’ Turner will exhibit her beautiful and haunting graphite drawings in her first SF show, Nocturnal. Core themes include alchemy and nature, with a more targeted focus on, you guessed it, nocturnal life forms in this series. Nix is a highly successful commercial designer, but her personal work is far more intimate, delicate, and researched, offering subtle yet amazingly detailed graphite drawings that must be seen in person to fully appreciate.
Additional works by Layil Umbralux, Sculptures by Heather Ford, and local jewelry designs by Science Kitty, Tanith, Form and Funktion, Thief of Hearts, and more.
Opening Reception Saturday, Aug 21, 7 - 10p Modern Eden, San Francisco
